FAQ
what is involved in a session?
An initial intake assessment will be conducted. The psychologist will work with you to gain a snapshot of your life, including a developmental history and your current concerns. Together you will identify strengths and barriers in your life and establish therapeutic goals. The psychologist will use the information to develop a treatment plan which will involve active participation from you in ongoing sessions. Rise Performance Consulting aims to keep sessions dynamic and interesting through the use of a variety of evidence based techniques. Clients are encouraged to give feedback where possible to ensure sessions are continuing to challenge and support them.
how many sessions do i need?
Every individual is different. A rough guide would be about 6 - 10 sessions to make a meaningful difference. We offer price packages if you choose to buy multiple sessions.
what strategies can you give me?
While you will learn new skills in session, it is important to remember that this is not Oprah. Nor is it primary school sports day where everyone gets a prize. Sessions require active participation from both therapist and client. It takes practice and commitment to make change. You will be challenged and regularly encouraged to self-reflect, but you will always be supported through this process. It is time to make change in your life.
are you analysing me?
No. Psychologists get asked this on a daily basis. We are not mind readers. Sometimes we wish we were. Other times we do not.
This sounds too hard
It’s true, that is not a question, but it is a FMS (Frequently Mentioned Statement). Therapy is a time for great change in your life and hopefully a very rewarding experience for you. Remember that the most memorable experiences often require great challenge in order to grow. Therapy is an active process which requires effort from the client. It is normal to feel apprehensive or nervous about taking part in therapy and your psychologist will guide you through this process.
