SARAH COLLYER

Sarah is passionate about the development of human potential, performance, and wellbeing across all areas of life and across the lifespan. She approaches the therapeutic relationship with warmth, compassion, and a sense of curiosity, focusing on client’s strengths and abilities.

Before becoming a psychologist Sarah worked in the performing arts, performing, touring, and recording as a jazz, blues, and contemporary vocalist, while also writing music, and teaching voice and creative practice at a tertiary level.

For her PhD, Sarah developed and delivered a yoga and mindfulness program focused on improving the health and well-being of amateur and professional singers, incorporating breath work, body movement, and focused attention, and applying these principles and practices to performance. Sarah has taught this program in the community, and through school music programs.

Sarah is particularly passionate about working with high performers, whether in the performing arts, sports, organisations or more broadly. She enjoys helping people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, challenging life transitions (e.g., career changes, retirement, bereavement), and working collaboratively with clients to achieve a greater sense of purpose, fulfilment, and wellbeing in life.
